As an experienced entrepreneur in multiple verticals including tech and crypto, Smokey brings a decade of experience both as a founder and investor to our Beacon mentor community.
Berachain is an EVM compatible L1 built on the Cosmos SDK and powered by Proof of Liquidity. At Berachain, Smokey leads ecosystem, growth, and operations. Smokey and his co-founders launched Berachain in 2021 just a few months after launching their NFT collection, Bong Bears, to address various pain points they had heard from developers and users across the industry. Within just a few years, Berachain has become not just one of the most innovative L1s, but also one of the most identifiable brands in web3.
Previously, Smokey worked in various industries such as healthcare and venture capital. He’s been in crypto since 2015 and is an active angel in DeFi and infrastructure products.
At Beacon, Smokey will provide valuable insights from both the founders and investors’ point of view, but most importantly, will help guide our founders to creating an unapologetically unique brand in web3. We are deeply honored to have Smokey join the Beacon mentor community!
