Jason was a tenured Mathematics and Statistics professor, received the DARPA Young Faculty Award for quantum-inspired cryptographic algorithms, was a PI in the original DARPA Deep Learning program in 2011, and published in Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning, and Physics. He previously founded and sold an Ethereum-based financial intermediary which achieved regulatory approval. He was Head of Cryptography for Lit Protocol, an MPC-based programmable keypair platform. He started his career in M&A investment banking and had stints in hedge funds and regtech. He holds an A.B. in Psychology from Harvard University, and M.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from U.C. Berkeley.
