Giovanni studied computer science with a concentration in AI and Machine Learning at Duke University. He is focused on building Octane on a leave of from the University. He is passionate for building reliable infrastructure and creating technical solutions. His experience includes designing and implementing backend APIs, frontend design components, relational database structures, large data pipelines, distributed services, smart contracts and blockchain infrastructure. Previously, he was a founding engineer at Mural where he set the foundations for their backend design and signed multiple customers. He was also the CTO of subtractive where he scaled the blockchain consulting wing from $0 in revenue to $2,000,000 in revenue. Further, he was the president of Duke Blockchain Lab, where he founded the university's DAO to support and fund innovation on campus. He also taught a Duke-credited course on blockchain development in Javascript and Solidity to students and raised $100,000 for the 2023 Web3 Duke Blockchain conference.
